Data models
Fleetview offers robust tracking and management of key data across three essential data models - Websites, Environments, and Servers. These models are interconnected, enabling seamless oversight. For example, websites are linked to their environments, and environments are linked to specific servers.
Websites
Fleetview provides a structured way to manage critical information for each website in your fleet.
Key data fields include:
- Git URL: The Git repository for the website project.
- Issue Tracker URL: The issue tracker link, such as Jira or GitHub.
You can also attach documents, add notes, store snippets, and include links to ensure all project details are easily accessible.
Environments
Each website is associated with one or more environments - whether they are development, staging, or live. These environments are connected to both their parent website and the server on which they run.
Trackable fields for each environment:
- Environment Type: Classification of the environment (development, live, staging, etc.).
- URL: The environment’s URL, used to retrieve data from the Fleetview client module.
- HTTP Username & Password: Credentials for HTTP authentication (not recommended for sensitive passwords).
- IP Address: The environment's IP address.
- Google Analytics ID: The tracking ID for analytics.
- Domain Name Registrar: The registrar managing the domain.
Automatically synced fields include:
- PHP Version: The current PHP version of the environment.
- Drupal Core Version: The version of Drupal core being used.
- Module Updates: Automatic tracking of all available updates, including security updates.
- Status Report: A comprehensive report of environment warnings and errors.
- Environment Uptime: Monitoring whether the environment is online and available.
- SSL Certificate Status: Tracking the validity and expiration of SSL certificates.
Like websites, environments allow you to attach documents, save snippets, add notes, and store links for additional insights.
Servers
Servers host your environments, providing critical infrastructure for your Drupal ecosystem. Each environment is tied to a specific server, allowing you to track both resources and performance.
Key server fields include:
- IP Address: The server’s IP address.
- Server Specification: Details like RAM, cores, and storage capacity.
- Account Owner: The contact person responsible for managing the hosting account.
- Cost Description: A way to track server costs and related expenses.
- Hosting Company: The name of the hosting provider.
